Matinique is a designer menswear brand that was founded by Niels Martinsen back in 1973. He made a promise to himself to live out his vision and create a range of clothing for men that was comfortable, high quality and at the forefront of fashion thus fulfilling the needs of the modern man.

In 2002 the team set to work on this diluted label and re invented into what is now a globally recognised, and highly respected brand. Using only the finest materials in their garments they took the fashion market by storm and created a collection of clothing that consisted of capsule pieces such as shirts, blazers and trousers. The brand was an instant hit and rocketed to the top of the fashion market.

Since then the brand has flourished and with the introduction of denim lines, footwear and a wide variety of smart men’s accessories, Niels Martinsen has achieved the vision he originally set out to create.

Their headquarters are now based in Copenhagen, and they have 850 stores which are divided between retail and franchise’s, and are spread across 18 different countries, they have managed to create the perfect image and presence of the fashion conscious man of today
